The Shoulder Shrug

 The Shoulder shrug

“Life is complicated”
She said to me, candidly.
She heaves a sigh
And with her lips tilted,
She shrugs her shoulders.

Its complicated
To say the least
And it doesn’t do it justice.
Not one soul has the slightest clue
On the incomprehensible process
That encompasses it all.
We have only uncovered
Convoluted and problematical enigmas
By barely scratching its surface.

“Life is complicated,”
She said to me, candidly.
And this child keeps its obscurity on sight.
She answers the unquestionable without a doubt
Of what seems to be a universal symbol,
Of an untroubled reality.
With a willing nod
She told the whole world that she understood
Without destabilizing its complexity
But purely comprehending
That it’s plainly simple.
Just like a shoulder shrug
